A Note from Pastor Scott
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Welcome to our two-year journey through the Bible.
This reading plan was designed to help every believer grow in daily faithfulness, biblical understanding, and spiritual depth. Reading through Scripture systematically keeps our hearts aligned with God’s story.
As you follow this plan, you’ll read:
- One Old Testament chapter each day. (In the Jewish Tanakh order – the way Israel has treasured the Scriptures for centuries)
- One New Testament chapter, revealing Christ and the early Church.
- One Wisdom passage, cycling through Psalms and Proverbs for encouragement and practical insight.
My prayer is that this rhythm of reading will steady your heart, shape your convictions, and draw you closer to the voice of the Spirit each day.
Let’s journey together through His Word – growing as a people who love truth, live with purpose, and lead with grace.
With you on the journey,
Dr. Scott Holmes
Pastor, Gateway Church – Shreveport
Three readings. One story.
Every day has three short readings, about 10 to 15 minutes in all. Miss a day? Pick up with today’s reading and keep going.

The Old Testament as Israel has read it.
The Old Testament readings follow the Tanakh, the Hebrew Bible’s own order: the Law (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi’im), and the Writings (Ketuvim). Psalms and Proverbs, part of the Writings, come in the daily Wisdom reading.

Vision of the House
I see a move of God
that will begin in prayer, develop in praise, fill our altars with fire, birth many salvations, mold strong disciples, spark a wave of generosity, release the supernatural, and be carried by youth and young adults.
I see a move of God
that calls the prodigals home, restores the broken, sets the captive free, confirms identity, and reveals divine purpose.
I see a move of God
where hunger replaces complacency, holiness replaces hypocrisy, and the Kingdom of God is priority.
